Reading, for me, is entertainment and an escape from the real world. But it can also inform and stretch the boundaries of the life I live.
Well, the action has finally kicked into high gear, and I think I've pinpointed why this book seems more tedious than SK's usual long rambly stories. There's very little humor. SK usually has a talent for finding the absurd in every character and situation, of making me laugh in spite of the gore. That seems to be missing here. I think this book might be taking itself too seriously.
