Reading, for me, is entertainment and an escape from the real world. But it can also inform and stretch the boundaries of the life I live.
I did my civic duty this morning and celebrated with breakfast tacos. Despite the assurances of the scaremongerers, nobody attempted to prevent me from voting, to influence my vote, to tamper with my vote, or to do violence to my person. The polling place was organized, efficient, and orderly, and the pollworkers were professionally polite. People stood quietly in line, mostly checking their phones.
Talk radio and the 24 hour news stations would have been bitterly disappointed at the lack of exciting things to report.
On the other hand, the tacos were very good.
