Reading, for me, is entertainment and an escape from the real world. But it can also inform and stretch the boundaries of the life I live.
Wonderfully creepy vintage horror that is so perfectly 1970's that it's almost funny. What happens when a bored housewife who fills her time with cleaning and decorating and shopping for stuff gets together with a hungry old mansion that needs to be revitalized? Ohhh yesss, she can clean and organize and decorate to her her heart's content. And does she mind a little sacrifice to have the beautiful home and perfectly set table of her dreams? After all, Mother does so much for us. She provides it all.
Audiobook via Audible. RC Bray's performance was okay, but he tends to have a sort of deadpan tone of voice that can become dull and droning at times.
